Well typically dark brown is a sign of stress. I don’t think your water dragon would bite unless he has never really been handled. I think that if you make a big Viv for him as soon as he settles down he will regain his green. If you do get one just let him chill in his new home for about a week then he will settle down. Then you can start handling him. I think you should join the CWD family. That does sound little spendy unless he is almost full grown.

he is still an juvie but reptiles are way more $$$$ in canada i think i got an adult beardie for $120 and my juvie iggy was $40 and my caiman was $250.. my berber skink was $20 and my bts was $100 but she is full grown at 20 inches.. . Juvie beardies go for $125ish here... I am gonna beg my hubby2be... :D our house is crammed with vivs just need to find room for one more!!!!! I dont know if hes ever been handled??? i have to go by tom to pick up more crickets so i will try to hold him and see..

WHAT you got a caiman croc. OH man am I jealous of you now. I want a croc SOOOOO bad. Is he hard to take care of? you should post pics of his setup. How long is he? do you handle him allot?
Yeah it sounds like Reptiles are a little more expensive in Canada.
Did you here that guys they have a croc. That is sooo not fair. I will someday have one and some sharks.

Ha! I just got the evil eye! I read to hubby what fivel said about dog the bounty hunter! He gave me evil eye! LOL! Yes I love Leland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways Fivel I love facial hair! I will not let hubby shave his face! I love to run my fingers thru it! Plus he looks too young and ... well I just dont like it when he shaves! And my son’s 1st 2 costumes of his little life he was so small he was 6 weeks early and only weighed 5 & 1/2 lbs when we brought him home so I made him a devil costume! He was born on the 9th so he didnt have time to grow! And I liked it so much he was again the 2nd yr! I made another. Oh I’ll have to post a pic later of hubby and I before marriage and kids of us dressed up as devils we one $100 first place! I held my CWD in the petstore and he was fine he sat on my hand all thru the store but now wont have nothing to do with me. It’s been like 3-4 weeks? It’s driving me mad! I want to hold him and take some good pics and see if maybe it’s old enough to see what sex! But he gives me the evil eye too! Anyways post pic later I have to go get hubby from er he had a wreck yesterday a woman ran a stop sign and hit a car and pushed it into my hubby! So I dropped him off at ER to come home and check on house. And yes to jump on here! LOL!!!!! ANd yes Im running around the house like energizer bunny! I guess the wreck has me nervous! Oh yeah and Morquinn my hubby asked where ur pics were he looked at every body else’s but he said urs weren’t on here andymore. I guess they delete them after a while! He reads this post but he dosen’t ever say anything! He’s the quiet type I guess!

Fivel- first of all i am an girl not a guy! easy to confuse with my nickname.. and the caiman is never handled we bought it because the poor thing was in an ten gallon tank.. and couldnt move and we felt bad and my hubby2be wanted it.. it is currently housed in our bsmt for the winter in an 8by 10 enclousre with a pond and sand box and stuff but usually it lives outside on half an acre fenced ofc.. and it is only an yr and a half old so not big just below a foot and half i would say... they are fun to look at but i would not personally touch one.. they are strong animals.. if you want one make sure you have the space for one and the respect for one.. he could prob be handled we just chose to allow him to live like he is wild..

Well I apologize. Well When i was down in Mississippi doing hurricane cleanup last year . We fed the gators all the time and we even had one named Chomp. I can’t find any pics of me with him but i did find this one. This is my old roommate and boss petting chomp. 
I have many more of just chomp. They really like marshmallow’s. you should try it.

thanks guys. ya i love animals, lizards esecialy. My family has 2 birds, 2 dogs, 8 fish, a rabbit and a guine pig. I have a waterdragon which i just got bout 4 weeks ago. me and my dad built the cage ourselves. I love the beach. I want to surf but i dont have a surfboard so i skimboard and bodyboard. I wrestle year round. this is my 4th year and i hoe to make varsity in high school as freshman. well thats it. thanks.

Does anyone know anything about newts?
My son’s friebelly is acting wierd. When i went in there to check on him I could tell he wasnt right so I picked him up and when he’s walking he barely walks and he’s slinging his head around like it weighs a ton and he slings around in circles and then plops it down he’s not acting like him self at all. I know the diffrence and so will he. He adores his Blade. ANd it would just break his heart if soemthing was wrong with him or happened to him I posted on the newt page but I was wondering if ya’ll knew!? Please if ya do? I mighthave to pull a swicth on him while he’s gone to school! I don’t think I could stand telling him he died! He is so excited about getting him bigger like my nephews! Here a pic of my nephews but his is a tiger something!
So see he was excited about having one to where he could have it that big!!! I cant break his heart. So I guess I might be going to the petstore Mon. I just hope I can keep him away from it untill then.

Ok I have a quick question. Igot stung by a wasp and I usually swell up rel bad till where i have togoget a shot. I got stung on my eye and it swelled shut, my foot, it swelled to like 10 times its size. Well today it stung me twice at the ball feild on my hand. once on finger and once on knuckle . I went straight to get a shot and they wouldnt guve me one. So does anyone know whjat to do? Its swolen and itching and has fever and red. Im using benadryl and stuff. cortizone. I dont know what to do with out a shot. I mean i could understand if the shot got u high or something but hello!? It dosent! It would have taken like 5 minutes! And no Im miserable! So does anyone know anything to take the icthy and fever and swelling out? I had to get grease on my finger after like 5 minutes of stinging just to get my ring off!

Well Kimmie if they won’t give you a shot then you need a lot of Benadryl. The tablets. Take atleast a double dose. I think that if you can find the benadryl spray or lotion you should use that also. You also should keep it iced. Watch for swelling and redness to grow up your arm. Be watching your neck as well.

Benedryl and the cortisone cream would be the only thing I could tell you, but I wouldn’t take a double dose. Follow what it says on the back of the bottle, because they have those on there for a reason. Taking more could hurt you. I can’t believe they wouldn’t get you an injection. Thats kinda silly to me. Can you go someplace else. What if you had a severe allergic reaction and started having trouble breathing...jerks.

and Kimmie, i imagine they didnt give you a shot because you werent going into anaphalactic (sp) shock at the time so they knew you didnt need it anymore. as we age, our allergic reactions to certain things increase and decrease, and you probably arent as allergic to the sting of a wasp as much as you once were. that is a good thing but i feel terrible that you feel so uncomfortable. i HATE that!!! you probably want to rip your face off huh? please dont! 
and good luck with the newt! you have had a bad weekend huh? my goodness! first the hubby, then the newt and now you!!!! poor girl.........

gosh guys i wasn’t tryin to kill her. When we have allergic reactions on fires we always just double dose on the pills. I have never had a problem. I got a cool story for ya though. I had a kid get stung in the eyeball. not like the eyelash, the actual eyeball. stung Three times. Your eyeball is a direct link to your brain so he began having a allergic reaction when he wasn’t even allergic to stings. His throat and face swelled all up. It was bad. We had to fly him to the hospital in a helicopter. He actually had to get a shot IN his eyeball. he lost his vision for about a week.
Jonnie> that’s pretty cool man. You can spray your dragon. Just don’t go all high power on his eyes and head. oh and lookin forward to the pic.

Its not wise to double dose on something that you don’t’ have a doctor saying you should. They put the stuff on the back of the bottle to follow because that’s the safe and recommended dose. We don’t even give any more than what is recommended on the back of the bottle in the hospital, even when its given IV push. Its 25-50mg every 6 hours. Sorry...its just being a nurse, I would never want to not saying anything when I disagree...so nothing against you Fivel...and you shouldn’t be doubling doses without a doctors permission either mister!!

Well its no better and i icthed allo night! It’s still red! And its hot to the touch. But I’ll live! But I think my babies newt is dying. I think it is or already is. And I dont want to have to tell my baby. I know hes 7 but still I hate to tell him. My hubby is going tomarrow to get another from the store. I dont know if I told or not we figired out what happened. He put this shell in there that had a door cut out of it and he loved it! He stayed in it forever! But I think sometimes Friday night he crawled out of it and over it and got stuck between the wall and the shell and he was almost upside down. So I was gone all day yesterday I woke up late and had to get to the Fball game. It was first playoff game( won it too! 34-14! that keeps them 2nd in the state in their age groop 7-9 95lb team) anyways he was stuck like that all day! So I think maybe he was squeezed inthere. Its sad! My husband wondered if he was fed but I buy like 12 tiny feeder fish a week and he still had like 3 left so he was eating. Iknow people say not to do that but thats all he would eat. I was scared we were starving him so i had to do something. But anyways we’ll switch them tomarrow! Its getting cool weather so they should have some in. I hope. I’m going to go call around rightnow! Thanks all! And yes I was and still am taking the Ben. stuff the pills and rubbing it on my hand like every thirty minutes. I have never had a wasp sting do this untill like the last couple of yrs.! I t started all of a sudden! Andits so swollen I cant click my mouse! UGHHHH! Sucks! NAyways its no big deal I was just mad at the doc. last night! After that my husband has whiplash or something form the wreck and he went in there jerking his head around and being very rude because he didnt go to the doc as soon as it happened. So i was jsut really mad at the doc! He was a jerk!!!

OK OK OK OK!!!!!!!! ppl! just slow down. the benadryl.... if you’re that swollen take 2. then take 2 advil ice that area well and go take a nap. Won’t be hard once the benadryl takes effect. that is a double dose. if you were to go to a doctor they would do the exact same thing. Give you more benadryl. if you’re having to get shots, and you don’t have to carry it with you all over the place. then the shot they give you is liquidfied benadryl. NOW. this is the important thing. if you don’t get better after intensive benadryl medication, I.e. 2 every 8-12 hours after two or three days then go to the hospitol. if it’s hot to the touch ice it. other than that. use anti itch cream or if you can get it, the spray. OK. now for the why you take theese meds. benadryl blocks the hisamines. It helps with the itching and helps keep the sting isolated, so it doesn’t spread. The advil will help with the pain the swelling causes and it’s also a fever reducer. The ice reduces swelling it constricts the capillaries so less blood flows to the wound site. If you don’t know swelling is caused by an increased blood flow to that certain area. the reason why it increases is because your body is trying to heal itself. but the swelling can cause damage. that’s why you ice a sprained ankle. letting it swell can hurt it even more. uhhh ok I’m rambling now. but yeah 2benadryl, 2advil, ice and keep an eye on it. that’s what you should do.

Fivel thats pretty cool about those gator i just dont handle snappy.. im more into cuddy reptiles thats my fiances thing but it seems like im the one who feeds it and cleans up the cage lol...

and i have a question. i osted about this but anyway, my dragon has these tiny white elevated dots on him about 10. When i go to pick him up and look at the dots, the dissapear. I am confused.
