Lighting can be as simple as an outdoor flood light fixture mounted inside....offers incandescent heat and light only. Other options can be a porcelain ceiling socket attached at the side too. That will allow lights, ceramic heat emitters and heat projectors. If you need links and images just start a new thread and I will answer there...or PM me Nice photos ... |

Thanks for the suggestion. I intend to get some spanish moss and some more thinner vine/branches like the big ones I "harvested" from the neighborhood this weekend. I’ll also be routing the heating pad cable through a hole in the bottom of the case (after I cut it) as well as continuing my search for an ultrasonic humidifier that I can attach a hose to and route into the case. |

It was actually one huge 65 pound vine that was growing in the woods about a half mile from my house. I cut it down, wrapped it over my sholders and trekked back to the house. I then had to figure out where to cut it so I could use both halves in the enclosure. |

cleaning is pretty easy depending on what its built out of. outdoor carpet is extreamly easy to brush and vaccume up. its as easy to clean as you build it to be! another difficult thinng is figuring out how to decorate!!!! |

I would like to offer suggestions Just... like a liner to keep the substrate off the floor ... and or as RX said .. repti carpet or whatever similar materials to make it easy. Youcan get quite expensive or do like RX has ... and keep a tight budget...but expect it to be a work in progress with a minimum of 150.00 to make a decent box and lights and heat. The plexi , if you chose to use it gets expensive fast. Screen is relatively cheap ...but offers much less humidity capturing properties. Ok .. enough for now ... Cp |

It measures 5 1/2 feet high, 4 feet long, and 3 feet wide/deep, with the stand adding another 2 feet to the height. With doors off.
Doors on.
One door open.
Close up of his pool which is a whiskey barrel fountain.
And finally a picture of the big boy himself. R.I.P. baby.
I have added a few things to the viv, like liners for the shelves and a cover for that open part in the front and a few branches and vines too. |
