 URO AGGRESSION

I have answered these questions, but i guess I will do it again, just for you.
I have gotten my info from various websites, breeders, and just plain uro owners. The breeders i buy from are not big website having breeders, therefore you would not know any of them by name. my tanks are a 40 breeder and a 4x2 tank for the pair. the temps are 120 on hot and about 87 on the cool side. im using reptisun 10.0 and basking bulbs. uros are 7yrs (9inches) and a young pair (4 inches)

Its not my problem if breeders you talk to keep beardeds in 20s and feed iguanas mice. If this is true, why would you even talk to them? The uro is HAPPY AND HEALTHY in the 40 breeder. I am using a different forum now. The info im giving works. and it works well.

Wow ! Nice stick on thermometers !! I hear those are the way to go !
Not surprised in the least that is what your using.
OF course you’ll probably follow up with how that’s an old pic and your not using them anymore. Doesn’t really matter, have fun with the new forum.

But of course they are for you. Because your so super duper special that the normal things on here that have been proven time and time again to be wrong , incorrect,or not work by many different people ,always seem to function just perfect for you .
I call you SUPERUROKEEPER !

Ah, i should of expected a smart remark from you. Well, the temps on the stick ons and the temps of the digitals are =! so...the digits don’t lie.

things that have proven time and time to be wrong? A thermometer is a thermometer. it tells temperature.

Well lets see, a 40 gallon is a VERY poor choice for a uro over time. Thats been tried and proven many many times . But of course your experience is different.

The stick on thermometers from the petstores have been consistently wrong by pretty much every member on here including myself that has ever used them . Some by as much as 20 degrees.
You must have gotten some from the secret batch.
You get what you pay for. There cheap, cheaply built, and NOT consistently accurate.
But if you want to trust your uro’s health to a 4 dollar thermometer then go right ahead.

did you not read my previous post? I have checked all the stick ons with the digital. the digital reads nearly the same temp as the stick ons. The main reason that they break is when they are dropped, it screws up the mechanism.

where did you check them? basking? ambient?
the digitals and dial type are meant for air temperatures not a basking surface temp. the digitals and dial type will not give you a surface temperature of a rock. so they would both be inaccurate if using them for a basking spot temp. From my experience the dial type I have tested against digitals are off by 10-20 degrees for ambient temps. I don’t know if the newer dial type are any better now then when I tested them years ago. I noticed you were using a dial type for your basking surface. the dial may read 120-130, however you could very well have a 100-105 ir temp gun readout. or you could very well have a temp that is too high.I don’t think the dial types go up past 120. if it’s on 120 it very well could be much higher without you even knowing it. The stick on’s and dial types shouldn’t be used.if you own digitals why would you be using the dials? in the end only an ir temp gun can measure a basking surface.

I call BULLSH*T on this statement, for the 2nd time... or is it 3rd? No name = there is no breeder of whom you are referring to and making yourself look even dumber. Congrats :)

Well which is it ? Equal ? Or nearly the same ?

You must get your thermometer’s from your super secret league of uro breeders.

is that dust on the front of the tank? if so id change substrate, as it could cause respitory infection. And the stick on thermos are roughly accurate at best. Sorry if it seems like bullying but the advice you will get off most on this forum is the same because we all share our information, I made a few changes after joining this forum and in turn gave out some advice to others and it will only improve your uros health. We are here to help eachother not intimidate but it does get frustrating when people shun good advice. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR UROS!!!!! and please read through old posts and at least consider some of the advice

No, it’s not dust. Its plexiglass that was scratched by tortoises. I know the risks of keeping young uros on sand. They are on paper towel. Thanks for the concern.

Once again you dodge the question. Nobody asked if these breeders are big time website having breeders. I asked what their names are. Because even if I don’t know who they are there is bound to be someone in your area who knows them, if they are an actual breeder they might be in one of the breeding associations, or something of the sort, in order to verify their credibility. Obviously you are having second thoughts on how accurate these people are and thats why you won’t give their names.
I also asked what websites you got your info from, we are all aware that you got your info from various websites. I asked WHAT WEBSITES because alot of websites are outdated and have very bad info that could possibly kill your uro if you do what those websites say. But you obviously don’t want to share which sites you got you info from, and why would that be? Maybe because the info is bad and you dont want one of us to see the website and prove it wrong. Why?? So that you can justify doing everything wrong.
I never said it was your problem that I know people who breed beardies in a 20gal. And I never said it was your problem that I talked to a man who fed igs mice. I was using those as examples, hoping that you would be smart enough to realise that you cant trust every ’breeder’ to give you good info, but obviously you arent that smart. Your uros are HAPPY AND HEALTHY!!! Thats right!! Because every uro that is happy tries to bite and tail whip its owner. WOW! I guess that means that since my girl has never once tried to bite me she must be unhappy and unhealthy. Man, I sure wish I knew which website you were reading so I could read it too and learn how to make my uro get scared enough to try to bite me.
Once again you said you were going to a different forum, but then you make about 10 more posts on this thread.

I bet the other folks on other forums are as nice as a rainbow arent they? :) :D They wont dare to actually tell you the straight truth, they would rather sugar coat it so its nice and easy for you not to get upset.
