 New to water snakes

I’ve been thinking about getting a pair of some type of water snake for a while, but I have heard they don’t really ever become tame. Is that true, or are they decent after some handling? I just don’t want anything aggressive in the collection (the blood pythons are bad enough.)

from what I understand yes they are a bit testy. I would recommend a pair of garter snakes. They are awesome try and pick up a albino checkered garter. they are purple looking.

I think you should get the snakes they are not hard to keep, they only require basic care, spot cleaning, regular feeding etc. I have had a young water snake for a few months, he is as tame, if not more than most other snakes I have kept. the trick is to handle them often, most of them will tame down but some water snake are testy forever. I hope this helped.
