i have an aquarium that i am going to use for keeping a northern watersnake and i was wondering if i could get some tips on raising a nerodia sipedon. i am new to keeping snakes food housing etc.

well u will need a water dish that is big enough that he can swim in, and u will want to change the water every other day, also u will wanna put about six rosies in there every 3 or 4 days after he eats the first 6. put reptile bark in for the substrate. Good Luck!

quinn caught it in the fox river. it is 8 in. eddie sells rosies for one dollar a half dozen but he usually gives you 7 or 8

you should clean the terrarium every week or so. eddie sells reptile bark for 6 dollars. the snake is mildly tame but hold him for an hour or so each day and he will get perfect in a day or two (i havent had the time to handle him much)

aspen bedding is a really good substrate. it’s cheap and it reduces stress because they can hide in it and it is pretty much dust free.i have the cage 1/4 reptibark 3/4 aspen bedding.
