 Question about enclosure

Hi all. I have a 12 month old cwd. He is currently in a 3’x1.5’x2’ terrarium that has a waterproof base level (about 6" from the bottom of the tank). I am considering taking out the soil and partially filling the bottom with water. I will use aquarium rocks at the bottom. As well, for one half of the enclosure I will have rocks large enough to come out of the water and create a dry area. Any thing bad about this? For the record, I am only talking about the bottom layer here; there are a lot of climbing areas and basking spots as well.
TLDR: want to take out soil and put in water/rocks! What do I need to know

For what it’s worth, he never hangs out in the soil as it is. He chills on his branches and dive bombs into his deep water dish. :)
Sorry for double post I can’t find the edit button

You might want to consider a feeding area. Either on the substrate or up on the foliage. Otherwise there really isn’t a big deal about your set up.

I considered an "amazon basin" design. but am opting for separate feeding areas within the substrate area with a large water area in the middle. I have multiple dragons.
