 Sick Water Dragon, vet unable to diagnose . Update!

Hi fellow lizard lovers. I wanted to update you on Pete’s status. She was having problems with her eyes, it started with the development of a hypopyon (pus under the cornea) and turned into her eyes being permanently closed. She has been getting a calcium glubionate syrup supplement for a month now and her eyes have cleared up and today is the first day she has had both eyes opened all day! It seems the low calcium affected her eyes. The systemic antibiotics were just an empirical trial and she may have had no infection at all, just a calcium deficiency.

I suspect this all began when Pete layed her second clutch of eggs this spring, lowering her calcium levels and putting her at risk. Just wanted to post this in case others encounter the same thing. I am taking extra precaution to make sure Pete gets adequate calcium especially when she is makin’ her eggs!
