Lighting
I just purchased a Water Dragon and I’m having trouble with the lighting and whatnot. I have a Day Glow 60 Watt bulb going right now, and I don’t know what kind of bulb to buy for night time? I called a pet store and they said something about a reptisum 5.0? Is that a night time light and do I have to buy a new Light dome to hold the bulb and for it and just turn the light on at night? I don’t want to keep leaving this Day light on 24/7 im going to hurt him! PLEASE HELP ME! thanks!!

Lighting You need a UVB light at 5% then what I did was i got a day heat lamp at 100 watts, then I got a dark one at 100 watts for the night. And yes I have to seperate domes for them. Make sure you have UVB lighting as well. Get a temp gage and make sure it stays around 84 dgf. And humidity gage as well try to keep it at 80% (good luck on that one ) Hope this helps

Lighting The Reptisun 5.0 is your UVB source and it is the best choice for a healthy CWD. Depending on the size of your set-up you can use an under tank heater which you can leave on all the time or purchase a red phosphorous or an infrared bulb which (will need a separate dome receptacle) for night. You definitely need to put your visible lights on a timer so they stay on no more than 12-14 hrs. (10-12 during winter if you want to follow recommended protocol for their pre-bredding period)

Lighting Note: 3% UVB is okay, too.

Lighting 3% isn’t nearly as effective as a 5%I’ve never had anything less than a 5% in any of my vivs. Personal choice. TD.x.

Lighting I’m using 3%, mostly because I didn’t know what I was doing when I picked it out. I guess it’s working fine those, since Poser seems healthy...
