Dmarie We’re here to help. Your posting on the other thread wasn’t an intrusion. We just wanted you to start a new post so that we could help you better and have the focus be on your wd.
We’d like to know all about your dragon, the set-up and see pictures. We LOVE pictures.

Dmarie the whole hijacking thing sounded a little harsh. i was like whoa. wasn’t my intention at all. but thanks for wanting to help. we’ve had our two dragons for a couple years now, and just a month ago our female started acting lethargic, not opening her eyes, not eating, etc. at first, i had thought it was the male aggravating her. i had figured when they were smaller that he was a he and she was a she, but of course the male wasn’t fully in gear at the time, so i wasn’t sure. he was bobbong his head and nipping at her. i was afraid to force feed her at first in fear of stressing her more, but finally decided that i wasn’t going to let her go down without a fight. and in the midst of me feeding her, she had gotten a little ticked at me and had opened her eyes. one was absolutely awful, and the other was visible, but had just started to get white areas over it. a few days later, i took her to the vet and he had given me triple antibiotic ointment for her. been feeding her myself and cleaning her eyes with saline solution and applying the ointment. within a week the one eye had fully cleared and she could see out of it. but she still wouldn’t feed herself. i noticed after i did feed her, she’d get up and move around, so i could tell she was improving. that’s been a couple weeks now. the one eye is better and she can fully see with it. but the other eye is still bad. but the swelling has gone down, so hopefully won’t take long before it’s better, also. AND she ate and drank BY HERSELF for the first time yesterday. i was so happy. until mister piglet barged in and gobbled them all up. he is seriously a pig. on a side note, he is WAY more calm than she is. he’ll climb up my arm and just sit there. she’s never liked to be picked up. she’s struggled at first and then she’ll calm down. is that common for the males to be more social?she’s been eyeballin me (with one eye :D) when i go up to the tank. i think she’s on her way back to recovery! what i didn’t understand was how the male could be perfectly fine. he’s all over the place. never had a problem. i think that maybe she got sand or a cat hair in her eyes. i’m going to take out the sand and put the carpet in there for awhile until she recovers. everyday i get her out and wash away any of the sand that’s gotten stuck on her head from her being in her water. she really is doing better. since the swelling in the bad eye has gone down, and according to her actions, i really think it’ll be a couple more weeks and she’ll be back to normal! she’s definitely a little fighter! i’ll get more pics later on and post them and keep you updated. thanks again for the help. this pic is a couple years old and from a few days after we got them. Grig(the male is on the left)and Cricket(the female that’s sick is on the right)

Dmarie aww hun sorry if we sounded mean about the hijacking thing. cept sometimes when two different memebrs post inthe same thread with two different cases its hard to focus on one in particular with the other in mind.
so we ask that the people don’t "hijack" (yah what a gross sounding word lol) the thread and start their very own so we can pay full attention and put you under the spotlight lmao.
Thats great that she’s getting better though! If you ant a substrate i suggest natural pure soil free of additives and chemicals. But i agree with you that it would be good to get that sand out. WD’s dont do well on sand.
but repticarpet works too. you might want to take a match or lighter to the ends to keep it from fraying.
sweet little ones you have there

Dmarie wow! you’ve all been through a lot!! it sounds like you have everything under control. i would like to point out that most do not use sand as it can cause impaction in the intestines if swallowed. your poor baby is a fighter!! take out the sand like you said to prevent future issues. she may have gotten it into her eyes and scratched them then they got infected. reptiles have two sets of eyelids so the sand may have gotten in between them as well and irritated them. keep us posted.

Dmarie Hi
I’m sorry to hear about your WD’s eye - careing for them when they’re ill is hard work and a lot of worry isn’t it?!
I have a question for you ... how old are they? do you know? how long is the larger one snout to vent? could you take apicture of the larger WD’s vent area for us to see?
I only ask because he’s not very masculine looking ... I wondered if you might actually have 2 females there?
TD.x.
