I just thought I’d let everyone know how I breed my Superworms........

I keep everyone in my "Meals On Wheels"...LOL...

For my Supers I keep them in one of the drawers with bran and oatmeal and I feed them carrots and potatoes and collard greens and turnip greens stems I’ve about 200 to 300 supers in there

For my breeding I put them in a container that looks like this and I just put a little bran/oatmeal in the bottom....(they say don’t use anything but I do and I’ve had no problems)

OH I also drilled a hole for each cubical for air in the top

Then I let them turn into pupa’s and turn into beetles

Take them out and put them in the beetle drawer

Let them mate and after about two week I go stir up the bran/oatmeal and check for babies...I find babies I dump everything(babies & bran) in the next drawer....feed them and let them grow..

and I just keep the process going..

Oh I store my pupa container in my cookbook shelf and I’ve always have had pupas......

And yes that is an antique toaster that was built in 1906 and yes it still works...makes the best toast....LOL

Yes when the babies get big I take them out and put them in the other drawer....Oops I did spell beatle wrong..I’m so brain fried right now and tired......I’m going to go get a nap!!!!!!!!!!!!..LOL....

oh pocochu another question about the babies.

so they’re okay living with the parents and they just eat the parent’s food?

How many beetles do you usually need, I’ve tried before but nothing happened, i’m guessing i didn’t have enough beetles.

Do the oats have to be dampened for the eggs? and lmao uhh how long doeds it usually take the the babes to grow big enough?

As soon as I see babies I take and dump everything in the baby container and put fresh bran/oatmeal and put the beetles right back in.......I have about 15 -20 beetles all together...and if I see some that are acting kinda slow I take them and feed them to Junie...OH MAN he loves super beetles...I hate the crunch,crunch oh and the smell...EWWWWWWWWWWWWW,,but he loves them....

I don’t wet anything I leave it dry.... and it takes about 2 weeks for babies to hatch....

I get my bran at the grocery store....and I use Quaker Oats and I put it in a blender and make a powder out of them and then I mix the bran and oats together and put it in the bug containers.....You know you can get bran in bulk at the feed stores..but it comes in a 50lb bag...I have no idea what I would do with 50lb bran.....(My horse won’t touch it)...lol...so I just get the small boxes of it at the store...
