 ID SNAKE PLS....

This snake came into a building where my friend is renovating. It’s in northern Louisiana, but I’ve never seen a water snake or colubrid this big or with such bold markings....is it a water/columbrid, or a venomous snake? I’m very upset, because they killed it. I would have rescued it.

Some sort of water snake but I can’t tell for sure..

It is a Diamondback water snake....what a shame they killed it.
