Hey Carmelita, I’m at my bro’s using his PC. When and were ya going in Texas. I wish I could go this year but losing a PC, Tractor and refrigerator all in a two week period has screwed me this year!

If you are in Sanderson or Stockton again make sure you drive 285 at night. Make a couple passes and you will strike gold.

Tractor? Hmmmm.... Never pictured you on a tractor. How’s that song go? "She thinks my tractor’s sexy".....

Had two trips planned to Corpus Christi. Had to cancel the first due to a death in the family, but still doing the second one. The boys and I are flying out August 14th, and coming back on the 23rd.

So does this mean the Midwest Herpetological Symposium is out? I think there is a higher power here preventing us from meeting in person.

Are you kidding me; awesome area to be for the Texas tortoise and pine snakes, and the INDIGO! Also Western Diamonds and Pigmy’s..Copperheads are so abundant in old dump sites that you have to be very careful not to get bitten when flipping junk. At night ride Rt 70 West to Bishop for Diamondbacks and Pigmy’s . During the day look for any old roads with junk or abandon house, barns etc.

Could not find a rt 70.... found 77, but that looks like a major hwy on the map. Thanks Jeffrey!!! Hope I have better luck there than I did in Fort Stockton :)

The best I could find was a road that goes from Chapman Ranch to Bishop, but it is not labeled. Is that the one? 286 out of Corpus takes you to Chapman Ranch, but continues south, so I do not know what the road is that goes west from there. I am guessing that is the one. Thanks again!!

On a side note.... Last Friday I had the opportunity to meet and pick the brain of Dr. Douglas Mader!!! (everyone here should know him from REPTILES magazine if nothing else) He gave an awesome presentation at our herp society meeting. One of the best presentations ever, in my opinion. Man I wish he was driving distance from me.... I could use a vet like him with all the sick snakes I work with.

Oh, and I am putting Creampuff down today...... Very hard decision, but it is time. I have worked with him for 3 years... not looking forward to it.

Plus, we were exhausted every night by the time we got back to the condo, too tired to head back out again. I did see that road you were talking about, we went through Bishop on our way home from South Padre Island. If we had headed through there later (dark) we would have taken it back, but it was still daylight.
