Thanks for the kind comments. By the way that eyelash is no little snake. Born in 2000 She is a 9 year old captive born animal and is almost 4 feet long! That monster eats small rats and has to be the biggist eyelash ive ever seen. I showed her to Al and he called her the mother of all eyelash vipers lmao.

Haha yeah she is a monster. Shes so fat and off balanced that when she tries to strike at me she just falls all over herself lmao. But thats not a snake id like to get bit by. Most eyelash bites would probally just give you a bad day in the hospital. But one of that size is likely to kill you.

Just as a size reffernece that critter keeper she is in is 14inches long. I normally had her in a 4ft neodesha and she could almost stretch the whole way across that. Unfortunatly i saw no prospect in breeding her since she was so fat so i sold her a couple months ago. Those pics where taken as i was packing her up to be sold. As you can tell she dident like it one bit. She was a great display animal but theres not a male on the earth big enough to breed with her even if she wanted to.

i’ll be honest,i am still in the "learning"about venomous, very little hands out experience,so i know very little about that actual species, but she is gorgeous, going to inspire me to learn a lot more about that species,,hmm,,low toxicity on the venom,or very low yield on a hit?

They are a slender arboreal snake normally found in shrubs or low-lying branches along waterways. A smaller species of snake, adult females are between 24 and 36 inches long with males being smaller and between 18 and 24 inches long. Because they are one of the smaller arboreal snakes, they make great displays in exhibits and wonderful additions to any vivarium.

Eyelash Vipers are one of the most naturally variable colored snakes. Their base colors are predominantly green and yellow, however, red, gray and brown are also found. The markings on these snakes can also be quite variable with black speckling, green, pink, red or orange markings, and even patternless being possible. Currently, the hottest phase eyelash on the market today is the "Tiger Phase", which is a beautiful yellow ground color with green tiger banding.

While no deaths from an eyelash bite have been recorded in first world countries, deaths have occurred. A bite from an Eyelash Viper would most definitely cause severe pain, possibly the loss of a finger, and thousands of dollars in medical bills

I think they make great beginner hots. If its possible get a well started captive born baby. Most of the time the neonates are hard to get started and requier alot of tease feeding. Their temperment is normally very docile but they will strike if repeatadly provoked. Their care is pretty simple and stright forward and are easy to handle with a hook. They are more active at night and you will find them basking on limbs through out the day rarely moving which makes them great display animals.

Very Very nice pictures of very very very nice snakes. I am a new world junkie but the old world arboreal vipers rank up there and give the new world stuff a good run.

Before I really got into my Latin America snake theme, one of my goals was to start up the largest arboreal viper exhibit.
