 Permits?

NY’s DEC Special License unit are the people who issue permits. However, since the law changed a few years ago, they are not giving out any new VRL’s (venomous reptile) or ESP’s (endangered species) to anyone that wasn’t grandfathered in. There will be an exhibitor’s permit in the future, but they are still going through the motions with it and the requirements. You’ll need to prove that you are doing a certain amount or educational talks and exhibits, there will likely be a fee, and probably references.
As soon as I hear more, I’ll fill you in. From what I’m hearing, it’s getting closer to being finalized, so it shouldn’t be TOO long. Not what you wanted to hear, I’m sure.

Give it time and you will be. Unfortunately, none are safe right now. I don’t see Florida changing anytime soon, but that’s only because they have a great permit system, and a wildlife service that will fight for it.
The NYSDEC didn’t believe in the new laws, nor do they have the time to regulate them, but laws are laws, and they do what they have to.

To live in a state that says you can’t even own a boa is Communists at best!! Just think about how many freedoms we are losing and how many China is gaining year by year. We reversing policy and you just wait, the time is coming when the good ole USA will be under total Gov’t control.

You can own a boa, it just can’t be over a certain length.

Crisco, as soon as I hear about the exhibitor’s license, I’ll post the info.
