 Tickling a uromstyx

So.. there are tons of videos on youtube of people tickling their uromastyx bellies. In general.. an owner starts petting the uros side.. and it flips over and sits there while it gets its belly rubbed. My question is.. do uros actually like the belly rub or is it a submissive response? I ask this because in other species.. rolling over and showing their belly is a submissive response (like hamsters). I just have to wonder if these uros really like it.

On an entirely different subject.. Gordo willingly climbed into my hand this morning. I am starting to wonder if his feeding schedule might actually be taming him.

I don’t have any proof, but I do not believe these animals are rolling over for a belly rub, which puts them in a very vulnerable position (something their brains are hardwired to avoid). This, IMO, is a submissive display.

And yes, Gordo may be associating you/your hand with food, which is a common response for many captive animals.
