 Lazy or a problem?

I’ve had my Uro for 3 weeks now, and cant say I’ve had any problems. This is just weird though. He has had a couple days where he’s slept a few hours longer than usual, but nothing like this. Hes been out and about for at least a few hours every day since I got him. Until now...
My Uro went to bed a couple hours earlier than usual last night (around 6:30).
It is now 6:00 the next day and he hasn’t left his cool side hide (where he sleeps).
Hes poked his head out a couple times, but just went back to sleep.
It is getting colder around here quickly, but this is just not like him.
His temps are all good, and I’ve put fresh food in.

It’s my day off and I just want to see my little buddy!

Yeah, mine did the exact same thing I think twice now, and I’ve only had him for a week. I know it’s about the beginning of brumating season (which is like the reptile/amphibian version of hibernation, from what I’ve read, except they don’t sleep in, they just become tired, less active versions of themselves during winter). Although the vet told me she doesn’t think they’re naturally tuned to know when it’s time to brumate, I have read several conflicting stories that suggest they automatically know the time of year to do it.

Other than that I dunno, but like I said, mine has been very inactive for a week. Also could be that he is still getting used to his new surroundings...like mine.

It’s not unusual for them to slow down this time of year but.... before chalking it up to winter make sure all your husbandry/caging/temps/diet are up to par. Any problems in those area’s can cause the same symptoms but it will not be a good thing .
Can you tell us more about how you keep him ? Temps ? enclosure size ? diet ?

He’s between 6 and 7" and in a 48x12x18h with a basking rock/hide in the hot side, and hides in the middle and cool sides. He always sleeps in the cool side.
I have a 150w basking light and a 75w halogen, along with a 10 UVB strip light.
Basking area is anywhere from 120 to 130 after the lights have been on for a couple hours. middle is around 90 and cool area is in the low to mid 80’s. (those are all temps after the lights have been on for a bit, so what they are for the majority of the light cycle) Night temps start at regular temps and end up around 76 or so. Temps are measured with digital thermometers and an IR temp gun.
Hes housed on millet seed, and though he snacks on it, he still eats plenty of greens.
His diet is primarily endive, escarole, and bok choy. I also add in turnip and mustard greens as rotational. Once or twice a week I will dust his greens with a mixture of RepCal Calcium and RepCal Multivitamin.

Yesterday while he was asleep I did add in a new basking rock/hide and had to rearrange a couple things. So, I’m wondering if he woke up, saw the changes and was just startled and didn’t come out for the day?

I’m not extremely worried, yet. If he does the same thing tomorrow, that will change.

Everything sounds ok except the enclosure size. Sounds like a 55 gallon ? way too narrow , Not enough ground space . Work on a larger enclosure and the rest sounds pretty decent.
He might just be slowing down for the winter. Mine still come out everyday but there appetite has decreased alot and they dont stay out as long right now.
