Very nice !! I dont really "plan" on breeding mine but defenitly wanted a pair from the start. My girlfriend breeds snakes so we are completely set up to incubate them. I think I still have a couple of years till that time though . Do you have pics of them ?

I will get pictures probably this weekend I wanted to give them a couple weeks time before I handled them to much. I raise red tail boas as well.( at least I hope to have my first little this coming season.) I know any new snake needs several weeks adjustment time I assume these would be the same.

They are starting to come out to see me when I feed and are frequently up on there basking spot instead of hiding so I figure they are adjusting well.

I know breeding them is a challenge but I figure it’s worth it. I wonder as there habitat decreases if we don’t have viable captive breed communities how many of these lovely creatures will go extinct. Zoo can only do so much. I have the time, space, money and love for reptiles so I am trying to do my part. and let’s face it it is a great hobby the whole family can enjoy.

I believe this is the best place . You can do a search for specific questions . I would suggest that you have at least one more complete set up ready . two if you can in case you need to separate the Uro’s at some point . Uro’s are solitary reptiles and only get together with a mate during mating season in the wild . Many times even after years of being housed together they will end fighting , some times to the death . I would watch them closely for any signs of aggression. It is also very difficult to sex some Uro’s . Two males will defiantly fight .
If you will read the post , "Before Posting " and answer the questions we might be able to help you more .
Don’t believe every thing you hear or read. There is a lot of misinformation out they and out dated info . They are some experienced long time Uro owners and breeders here that can help you. Recently this site has been kinda slow but if you post a question and be patient I am sure you will get some good info .You might want to check out :

Do not handle your Uro’s, do not soak your Uro’s or feed crickets, worms , spinach, kale , broccoli or red kidney beans .feed endive, escarole, dandelion, squash, bok choy , mango, finch seeds , and soaked lentils.
Uro’s are not easy to breed so read all you can.

I do actually have several extra tanks ect available I have had reptiles for many years and tend to collect cages and equipment.
I did notice when I first started looking into these that alot of the info was from the 90’s. I have found some much more up to date info and finally this site.
So far everything is going well. everyone is warm and eating and pretty active.
