This is urgent What are you using for "bedding" ? Maggots would only be there if there was something left in there to rot . And I would not think they would even survive with the temps that uros need . Are your temps ok ?

This is urgent Are you sure they are maggots and not worms from your Uro?When did you last have a fecal check done ? Also if you are using millet seeds and it is hot it could be from the seeds. If that is the case I would change the substrate to something eles like washed sifted play sand.

This is urgent Thats one of the problems with using millit . It can promote bacteria and grow mold and things if not changed regularly . I would switch out to playsand . Maggots are not a good sign, I would clean it out good.

This is urgent You may also want to try and put the Uro on paper towels in a separate enclosure while you wash/disinfect/wash again his/her original enclosure. I would definitely try switching substrates if you have this kind of problem. Washed/sifted playsand is relatively cheap and easy to come by in home depot or lowes, just dry it out before you put it in, its usually kind of damp.

This is urgent BTW, 2 to 3 inches of Millet is too deep anyway. It should only be about 1/2" deep. You are making it hard for him to walk. I would probably vote for either uro worms, or something in the Millet itself. Did you freeze it before you put it in the enclosure? I think that is just another reason I plan to stick to play sand. Even paper towels would be better. I doubt if a fly larva would hatch unless you had tons of water and feces in the tank, doubt that you would have either. So it is probably some form of Millet larva or something from the uro...also less likely as they would also have a hard time surviving outside the animal.

This is urgent Sounds like weevle or dermistid beetle larva. I have the same issue with using seed. If they’re alive and wiggling more than likely that’s what they are. This sounds about right since you cleaned and replaced the seeds, probably all of the seed has them. They’re harmless, the larva and beetles just feed on the seed. Regularly changing the seed will keep the population from exploding too bad.

This is urgent I agree with Sahell. I don’t think a fly got in there . I would put them on layers of paper towels . Then if you find them you know its from the Uro’s . Later I would switch to washed play sand .

This is urgent Yep then it was the millet . Any time you use millet or feed finch seed be sure and freeze it for 6 hours or more so that it kills any eggs that might be in it . Still a good idea to have fecal checks done for parasites .
