Substrate
Ive bought some reptile sand from a company called ferplast. ive not put it in yet as im just a bit wary of it. i know washed play sand is the best, but im a bit unsure of where to get it (i live in the UK). The sand i have claims to be "natural" , i read on another post to soak it in water and let it dry, i did the test and it hasnt clumped up at all. Obviously its hard for u guys to say without seeing the sand, but would u use it. If not i’ll try and track down some play sand. |

Bet the reptile store also feeds crickets! Millet birdseed is one option for a substrate. Lots of uro’s eat too much of it and not the greens they should. It can also be hard to keep clean and you have to freeze it to kill mites. Sand is easier to sift, and easier to keep clean. Paper towels are always an easy solution, as well as tile with a small area of sand for them to dig in. |
