 RES babies

Hi, I have a pond with four (5) Red Eared Sliders. We had trouble with the filter, so the pump was on and off.
Just when my handyman was repairing it, I found that a baby was sucked in the filter. I think I saved it in time, but it was very weak in the beginning.
I put it in the swimming pads to get sun and breathe. But the big turtles sun bathed and shook the platforms and I can’t find the baby back nor do I see it come up for air.
So how do the babies get air? How long do they stay under water and do the parents care for their young?
We inherited the turtles with the house, and I have no clue about them, neither did I know they had babies. Also, could there be more than one baby?
