 Snapping turtle eggs

Today (June,11,2013) I watched a snapping turtle lay eggs next to my house. I was worried about them because they were laid right next to the driveway. I took about 20 of them and put them in a 10 gallon tank that was from a old reptile. I got dirt and pebbles that i found outside and mixed it around in the tank. Then I carefully put the eggs in the tank and then put a small layer of dirt on top. I have a heat lamp and a thermometer the read about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I am assuming they will mostly be males. I am not sure if they are getting enough heat and I want to know what I can get to help hatch as many of them as possible. Please help because this is urgent.
