I agree. If you cant get a better pic try looking up the native species for the area if you found it outside. It could be some kind of chicken turtle, maybe, but a better pic would help alot.

its a cooter or a slider of some sort, you can tell by the shape of his head. if you want better identification then that, take a (good) picture of the top and bottom of his shell.

this looks just like my turtle i just found in my craw fish bag. from what i have researched, it is a ridge back musk. google it under that name, im pretty sure its the same as mine.

Musk turtles are much rounder in their shell and most dont have the cooter pattern that this one shows its definitely not a musk turtle

there is no such thing as a yellow bellied cooter, they are trachemys not Pseudemys... common mistake made by most people

yeah could a chicken or some sort of hybrid slider or cooter they ALL inbreed FYI the rsd ear is now indigenous to the ENTIRE WORLD!!!due to the pet trade shipping pseudemys scripta elegans will breed with all slider muddieying the gene pool oh well
