My New Pet Tortoise Has Not Been Eating Laterly I Had Got Him On Sunday Just Gone. People Have Said It Maybe Because The Tortoise Is Cold But I Have The Light On 12 Hours A Day And Let The Tortoise Outside Each Day. When I Take The Tortoise Out Of Its Cage He Just Runs (Haha Walks) Away And Tries To Hide. The Food I Have Put In The Tortoise Cage: Strawberries, Carrots, Apple and Green Leaves (Advised By Shop Keeper), Chuttel Fish And Dry Food For Tortoises. I am Unsure If It Is Because Its Perparing Forr Hibernation But Its To Early I Have Been Told.... I Have Given The Tortoise A Bath But It Doesnt Seem To Make A Difference.. I Just Dont Know What To Do?? And Dont Know What Is Up With Him??:( Its Seem Very Down and Just Wants To Hide.. Thanks For Your Time:D |

You also need to give the tortoise time to settle into his/her new surroundings. It is not unusual for them not to eat for a week or a little longer until they are comfortable in their surroundings. You haven’t said what kind of tortoise it is, so I can’t say if the diet you are feeding is good or not. More than likely he is just stressed and will settle in after a week or so. |
