 Fact or fiction(about tree frogs)

Yes I heard someone tell me on a website that Cuban tree frogs just like white’s tree frogs will eat other frogs. Anyways I was wondering was this made up or is it really true. Cause you see I’m about to buy a cuban tree frog to put in the tank with my other two tree frogs, but before I do, I need to see if what this person said was true or false, cause if it is true, then I don’t want to buy it. So when ever you have an answer, please let me know soon.

Hi chad Yes it is true to a point,

Cuban tree frogs will not hesitate to eat other frogs, even other cuban tree frogs, as a rule any frog will eat anything it can get in it’s mouth, including other frogs.

White’s tree frogs will also do this, however, they aren’t as aggressive as cubans.
The bottom line though is you shouldn’t mix frogs

Never mix different species of frogs period.

As far as frogs eating frogs, even the same species will eat others if they can fit them in their mouths. That is why with aggressive eating frogs like Cubans, Whites and even PacMans etc you want to make sure that the frogs are within about a 1/2-1 inch size difference.

You also need to make sure that your tank is big enough for the frogs. For Whites 20 gal for one, plus 10gal each additional.

Cool, it was smart of you to ask first.

Are your others Whites? If so, you are lucky because they have so many different looks, some are always brown, different shades of green, even blues.
