I thought tortoises were supposed to be slow and sedentary

I got him eating Romaine/Mustard/Collard greens again along with Dandelion flowers. No luck getting him to eat any kind of hay but man is he active. And mischievous. I gotta keep my eye on him cuz he likes to find new places to hide.

I’ve heard negative things about feeding him supermarket greens but all I see is positive signs of health. I live in a building with lots of exposure to the sun which I believe is the key factor to his friskiness. UVB bulbs are nice but obviously not the same. He’s strong too! Can move 5 pounds and he only weighs half that! I give him apple slices once a month other than the afore mentioned greens. He has regular bowel movements and uric acid excretions.

Very active and alert.

He seems very happy other than having an available mate.
