 Baby Sulcata diet

I finally got my tortoise and now I have a ton of questions. Here is the first one: can my little darling, approx. 2 months old, have watercrest leaves? How about Bitter Mellon leaves, fresh green beans and pumpkin leaves? I live in California and have access to a huge variety of produce, I just want to be careful.

do not feed green beans. too much protein (and that’s a lot less than you’d expect) will cause at least pyramiding, and at most, death.

a sulcata should not eat anything that is more than 5% protein. go here and read: Link. i disagree with some of the diet, but they probably actually know more than me.

don’t expect many replies. unfortunately, the tortoise forum is dead.

Thank you for your reply. Are you a Sulcata owner, too? I have been trying to do most of my research on line, but it is difficult to know what is correct.
He doesn’t really like the grassland pellets so I am trying to find the fresh vegetables and grasses that will be healthiest for him. Any other information you can send my way would be much appreciated.

Take a look here :)

By the way - adult or baby sulcata, they all require the same diet.
