So i am probably going to be ordering a tegu from varnyard herps but before i do i have a few questions that i need answered. My plan is to get a 40 gallon tank and use a powersun bulb for the basking/UVB in the tank. i was going to use clean dirt as a substrate. How does this sound for a set up? Any suggestions? or tips?

A few tegu questions.
Most people that keep tegus use cypress mulch. It holds humidity very well and allows for them to dig in the mulch and hide under the mulch. keep about 8 in. or so of mulch. Just provide hides and a baksing spot of 100-110 degrees and a cool side of upper 70s.
