My ameiva 
i bought a green ameiva about 2 months ago still have him. when i found him he was sitting in a 10 gallon aquarium in a pet store i dind’t know anything about them at the time but i could tell they where a very active lizard he was always trying to run and he was hitting the glass pretty hard so i bought him. at the time i only had a 20 gallon so i put him in there for a few days and build a cage for him which is 72LX18DX24H has a plexiglass front the rest is wood. he loves it in there he runs back and forth most of the day and surprisingly he is getting used to me i can put my hand in now and touch him. i can get him to climb on my hand but he when i try and lift my hand out he runs off my hand. learnt alot about them though and they are great not a good isea for someone buying there first lizard unless u want to read for about a week straight before you get one and they take alot of care.

cool. good luck with him. i had a tiger ameiva and i had a bad experience with it and parasites and stuff. hopefully you will have much better luck with yours.

well i decided since it was getting very close to hunting season which starts tomorrow i figured i should go and sight in my bow and my rifle when i returned home and found my dog has knocked over the cage according to my brothers girlfriend the 2 dogs where playing and bumped the stand and well theres not much left of the cage so have to build a new one tomorrow found the ameiva running around my living room thank god i found him he’s fine just the cage is finnished i have him in a 20 gallon aquarium until i get a new cage built for him i’ll build it tomorrow and have it set up for him in a few days once it airs out and stuff.

yea my ameiva will let me and only me touch him he like it when u rub his back with ur fingure but don’t touch the top of his head he starts to do a grunting sound and snaps at u and don’t get to close to his tail he runs and heres some pics of him the the aquarium

well surprizingly today he let me pick him up for the first time and he didn’t even try to run should be easier to move him around now when i have to clean the cage and such so everyone who says that ameivas don’t like to be picked up and such just takes a little time for ur ameiva to get to know who u are and ur scent my brother tried to pick him up today and he ran and snaped at him but i went to pick him up right after and he didn’t even move closed his eyes and stood straight up on all 4 legs

he looks nice. hopefully he doesnt have any parasites or anything. where did you get him? mine had parasites when i got him and he died like 3 months after i got him. it was impossible to get him to take his meds.

got him in a pet store when i walked in i seen him i knew i had to have him they didn’t have him he was way to active to be stuck in a small 10 gallon aquarium oh and i finnished his new cage just letting it air out should be good tomorrow to finnish setting everything up in it and put him back in. i would like to get another one but the pet store can’t order them they said they get them in randomly when ever they are available. so i’m trying to find somewheres else to get one if anyone knows of any good places online let me know.
