 CAN anyone answer this question.....

wats up ppl....ok my tegus are doing great...but with my lil sub adult...everytime i take him out and play with him and touch him and i pass my hand by the base of his tail all the way down he lifts himself up...so when i touch him from his mid back down to his tail..when i get 2 the base of his tail he lifts up...why is that?

I’m not positive because i don’t know much about tegus but i know man lizards don’t like being touched by the tail. So maybe its trying to warn you to stop. Are you feeding live mice i no that sometimes that makes them aggressive.

No reptile likes to be handled or touched on their tail as it makes them feel vulnerable and they’re being preyed upon. My Tegu hates it when I move its tail when I’m handling. Just think of it as someone you really don’t know coming and touching your behind. They might mean well but then again you have no idea of their intentions. There might be a better example but I just woke up so yeah haha.
