 Getting New columbian Tegu

Hi im new and i need help on finding a place to where i can buy one.I have a 20 gal that i ordered and will be here soon.I have a few questions.
1.Can i use soil/sand mix?
2.Where can i get one that ships to florida?
3.What can i put in its cage for decor and that it can use?

oh yeah, what made you choose a colombian? usually people don’t want those, maybe get an argentine, they’re more docile

lack of money is not a very good reason to purchase one animal over another. Also, if you dont have a lot of money then you dont want a tegu, caging,lighting,feeding etc are more expensive than the animal itself.

i have most of his caging lighting ect cus im building two 8 ft long cages 3 ft high and 4 ft wide.one for beardie and one for tegu.Also i have over $200.So.....The caging material has already been bought so.Do i have enough for one?Also i could get a golden tegu instead of columbian one?

I say you get an Arg B/W tegu. Seeing that this is your first tegu, that would be a good choice. You can get one shipped for less then 200. Try agama international, Bert sells them for pretty cheap and has great animals. He’s from Alabama so shipping wont be that bad. Goodluck with whatever you pick.

golden tegus are the same species as columbian tegus anyway.
