 Helping a friend decide

One of my good friends is looking into getting his first tarantula and he asked me what I thought. I don’t have any experience myself, so I thought I’d turn it over to you guys. He wants a terrestrial species that’s docile and slow. He’s interested in chaco gold knees and pink zebra beauties, but he was looking for opinions from experience. He doesn’t think he wants a rosehair because he’s heard reports of feeding issues and aggression. We’d both appreciate any input

I’d say any brachypelma(except maybe B.vagans, they can be temperamental). Honestly G.rosea are not bad at all. Yes they can go off of feeding for long periods but unless the caging is horrible or something they are fine. As for aggression it’s based on the individual animal. But G. pulchripes are a great choice, so are G. pulchra, A. hentzi, A. chalcodes. All tarantulas can be fast as far as movement, but most Brachypelma, Grammostola, and Aphonopelma are slow growers. Any thing else just ask.

He should get a Mecican redknee or a curlyhair.

Brazilian black are good but are hard to get some time and can have a high price tag.
