I have never had a tarantula before but i have a b lack house spider. I have a fear of spiders but i want a rose hair because i have heard they are good beginner tarantulas and to get over my fear of spiders. What do i need to care for one?

Rose Hair Tarantulas are some of the easiest tarantulas you can keep. They need an appropriately sized habitat. Usually a 5 gallon tank is the best size. Avoid a 10 gallon tank for juveniles; it would be too big and they don’t need the space and may get stressed out. Use coco fiber, or eco-earth for the substrate. Avoid gravel and wood chips; these may pose a danger to the tarantula’s sensitive abdomen. You must have a water dish at all times and a hiding spot. As for decorations, that’s up to you. Keep the temperature in the tarantula’s tank from 70-80 degrees fahrenheit. Avoid heat lamps and heat mats; they may kill your tarantula!

they are pretty calm unless you "grab it" they rarely bite but the bites are a little bit painful. i dont handle any spiders anymore just because but you can do it if need be. my house is at about 76F so the enclosures are a bit warmer (78F) most T’s do good between 70-80. some peat moss mixed with the coco eco-earth works awesome for holding humidity and burrows. ive been into pokies lately i just love the viv setups you can do. if you wanna spend the money you can order tarantula enclosures online or build one yourself. for a hide you can use bark from outside (bake it first) hot glue it together to make a log type thing or buy cork wood and cut/glue it together.
