 Wolf Spider/ Hobo Spider

Does anyone out there know if Hobo Spiders can live in Southeastern regions of the United States and if so, what are the differences between the hobo spider and wolf spider.
Thank you.

Hobo spiders are found in the Pacific Nortwest, so you shouldn’t be running into any in the south. There are many different kinds of wolf spiders, each looking a little different, so it would be easier to remember the distinctive markings on the hobo spider’s abdomen: Image, Image.

Bugguide.net is also a great website to look at photos of spiders to identify them. Here is the link to their page about Wolf spiders.

Thank you! I hate spiders(of any kind). I just hate running across one(or one running across my floor) with out knowing what it is.

Bump!
After researching it farther, I have found that there are WolfSpiders in the South East. They are called Carolina Wolf Spiders and in July of 2000 these spiders were named South Carolina’s state spider.

Lol I live in NC, actually moved a bmx ramp about 20 minutes ago and found at least 15 between moving the ramp and just watching the ground in general. They are every where, make interesting captives as well.
