I really think spiders are cool, but I get the wiggles when I try and handle them. Im a reptile kinda person.

Get a reptile then. Don’t buy things that make uncomfortable. buy thing that make you comfortable! well . . . i did get crickets that uncomfort me but anyway i hold ’em.

I’d second that. If they make you uncomfortable, why would you get one? Handling isn’t really recommended anyway, so if you’re uncomfortable to begin with I definitely wouldn’t suggest you hold them. It could be fatal for the spider if you jerked your hand and dropped them on the floor.

the reason i started holding my chilean was so i wouldn’t freak out if he ever escaped. Still didn’t prepare me for my adult female Lividum, when she decided to make a run for it. Had me screaming like a little girl.
I quickly composed myself and got her back into her enclosure. never again lol

Hahaha, an escaped Lividum is the stuff of nightmares. One time mine decided to shoot out of her tank, run up my arm, leap onto the floor, and then run under my bed. In about half a second.

H.Lividum escapee’s are just the bomb XD especially in my old home! I had two escape and my ex totally freaked he panics when I sit on the sofa with Samson (tangerine morph milk snake) but when he was making noodle for his lunch and there one was on the counter top he screamed! He didn’t know what it was at first, needless to say I caught him in thee d and found my girl a few hours later but my ex went running and ended up sending my dog half way across the room lol.
On another note I don’t believe in holding them at all unless it’s for home transfer to clean enclosure out and that’s it.

Dont get any animal that you are not fit to handle. Tarantulas really arnt that bad. it took me longer to get used to crickets.
