 Mice pics...and a question.

This is my brindle female I have. She has a litter now and looks like 2 will be brindle as well.

This is my black and white female...who has long hair. I am pretty excited about the long hair. She has a litter now as well. For the most part, I can only tell the ones that are going to be solid black.

This is the one I have a question about. This is my first long hair I got, which is what sparked the interest. I do not know what color she is. I thought at first maybe champagne...then I thought silver. But now that I’ve googled colors...she looks like a dove color.

These are her 4 kids...who are a bit older now, and all have turned out to be long hair as well.

Well I found her on accident. I found an add where a lady was selling long haired mice. So I went over to Florida to purchase a couple. When I got there I found she had brindles as well. I asked her if those were for sale, she said yes, and so I bought her too! I know for sure now as of tonight that 2 of her babies will be brindle as well. I googled a little bit on brindle and found that it’s actually a dominant gene. So it will not be hard at all to get more brindle colors. I was contacted by the local pet shop today and told to call tomorrow to talk to the manager about them purchasing these new ones. I am kind of excited! I really love doing it as a hobby.

Oh man, you are so lucky. Yes, they are dominant, but just like the brown eye gene is dominant in people, there are barely any people with brown eyes in some parts of the world. It, sucks. If I could get Brindle’s I’dI’d be a dream come true!

I’d say that last girl is a dove and it looks like one of the babies is too. That’s the color I always had a hard time finding.

Brindles around here are pretty common and I had others growing up. I didn’t know they were rare in other places.

Oh there soooo rare, here. I’ve never actually seen one with my own two eyes! I get doves as by-products of my recessive yellow breeding. If anyone was near me and wanted doves, pm me I’ve got some bucks right now...
