 Best substrate for fire skink?

I got a fire skink recently and I was told that A mix of Eco earth and coconut husk are good substrates to use. So my skink has been on that substrate but I’ve always been scared to use loose substrates. So are those substrates safe or should I use something else?

cocnut fibers are fine as long as you keep it wet. you can also add a little bit of mosses

We have had our African Fire Skink for about 4 months now. We use Natural Reptile Bark which is 100% fir bark and mix it with a softer white bedding (like you would use for rodents, although not the shavings). Our Fire Skink does come out quite a bit, especially when he wants to be held, but does spend most of his time burrowed. We spray our tank with filtered water to keep the humidity up. He seems quite happy with this type of substrate. The others are good too, just more work because you have to keep them sprayed
