 Blue tounged skink

Hello, Im normally on the BP forum but i saw a BTS at petco and was wondering if 160 bucks was a good deal. I t is about the length of my forearm which is about 1 ft. So please any avice would be great.

hi my name is skink boy i am very experienced with reptile i have a pair of blue tongue skinks and a pair of black and white tegus and a veiled chameleon.i think that personally a 160 bucks is alot for a bluey look around more for a better price

first are you willing to take care of it feed it the right amount of vegetable content and meat content
are you willing to handle it as much as you can
are you willing to give it a 60 gallon cage
are you willing to get a lizard that can reach 2ft long
I would say more but i dont have much time so just go to bluetongueskinks.net
and it depends on the type of bts the prices range between the species
I need a picture of some details

What kind of crap is this?!? A blue tongue does NOT need to be handled as much as one can! If anything you are causing more stress on the animal than good.

A BTS does NOT need a 60 gallon cage! Where can you buy a 60 gal anyways? A 30 gallon breeder will do just fine!

As far as food, I think getting the approprate calcium:phosphorus ratio is more important that the meat:veggie ratio!

please know what you are talking about before giving out advice!

When I said 60 I meant anything around that. dont get pissed bigger is almost always better

unless they are wild bts can become tame very quickly so you can handle them
I said handle them alot so that it becomes tame quicker and becomes used to human interaction

A 55gal actually has LESS floor space than a 30 gal breeder. Not by much, but it is smaller. height is worthless when it comes to BTS. the Gallon size of the cage is worthless, you need to give floor space size.
