 Schnieder skink ??

Hey Guys.. i was wondering if anyone can help... I have a schnieder skink and it (i say it because i am unaware of the sex) will only stay in the sand, ive tried verious changes in its cage and it still wont come out..

How long have you had it? The first week or so that I had mine he stayed in the sand most of the time..Now he comes out in the morning for 1-2 hours and will usually stay in the sand the rest of the day, every now and then he comes out one or two more times later on in the day. From what I’ve been told by breeders this is totally normal. Hope that helps

Hello:
Schnieder’s Skinks and sand go hand-in-hand. They usually move about above ground for a couple hours in the morning, then it’s back into the sand.
As far as sex goes it seems that males are a lighter grey color and females have a very dark grey as a background color. Males also have wider heads than females. It takes being able to see several of them together to tell the difference.
