 Emperor scorpion deaths

For ther past couple of days I had noticed 2 of my scorpions going to the same corner of their enclosure and staying their through the night and day.

They looked fine if a little docile but their tails where limp and flat on the ground.

All my scorps are good eaters, drinkers and all look healthy.

Their food, temp and humididty needs are met.

Ive actualy had several matings, finding a few spermatophore in the mornings on their slate so I thought all was well.

The two scorpions mentioned have died, why? I havent got a clue. They both looked fine and healthy, plump but not overly so.

They just seemed to slow down to a stop and died.

Are their any diseases I am not aware of?

As they both went to the same place to die I thought it may have been temp but was all fine.

Anyone had the same problem? May be a one off?

Hmm, well, I"ve had scorpions die for no apparent reason, but I canít say as that Iíve ever had them choose one particular place to croak.
Maybe they were just old?

Hi metz
How r u?
The scorps where still quite young. Not fully grown for male or female.
I did think it may be a temp due to their location but all seems fine.
Was a little weird though.
They hadnít long drank and fed.
Just seemed to slow down to a stop, twitch and die.
Got a third one doing the same thing now so Iím quite worried.

Sounds like poisoning of some sort.
What kind of substrate are they in?
Where any chemicals sprayed inside or outside the house?
Where were the prey items purchased?
Iíll probably have more questions but right now Iím not feeling well so I canít really think.

It could just be old age. Most times itís very unsure what age your scorp is when you get it as they are collected at nearly any stage in their life unless you have bred them yourself. It could be bad food; crickets with fungal infections or internal parasites such as gordian worms can kill off a whole tank. Even an overabundance of mites can severly deplete the vigor of your scorps. Also, males tend to die off before females. Check their pectines to see if theyíre male or not. Other then guessing, only a post-mortem will tell you anything at all. Sorry
