 IMPORTANT QUESTION!

I have an emperor scorpion housed in a ten gallon tank temp. 80-83 degrees F. with moist peat moss, but he always has peat moss all over him. Is this normal? How can I prevent this

 IMPORTANT QUESTION!

They’re burrowers, they’re going to get dirty.

If your substrate is wet (water will come out of it when squeezed) then let it dry out a bit. Other than that, being dirty is fairly common. If your water dish is wide enough, they will generally go get in it and clean themselves up.

 IMPORTANT QUESTION!

Thanks!

Glad to know I was not doing anything wrong and that they normally have peat moss stuck to them.

 IMPORTANT QUESTION!

That will lessen as the scorpion gets its burrow dug out how it wants it and gets it all smoothed out and sturdy.
When they are having a hay day moving earth however, they can be quite a mess.
