 Getting Rid of Soil Mites

Hello! I have had a tiger salmander for a few months now. I love him so much! He had some soil mites in his tank a while ago (probably got there when I put some fresh leafs and branches in his tank before winter set in).

I changed his soil and washed his tank as soon as I noticed them, as they can sometimes cause irratation to salamander skin.

However, it seems they are back! I haven’t put anything forgein in his tank so I am assumig some eggs were laid in the bark of his "hidey log" and recently hatched. Can I get rid of them by leaving his log in very hot water overnight, or should I just buy him a new one?

Are you sure they’re bothering the salamander? It’s possible they could actually be something harmless like springtails. Any way you get a picture of them?
