Not necessarily, but it’s more interesting to keep more than one so you can observe their social behavior; they are peaceful toward each other. What type of setup do you have? They are basically semiaquatic but I have noticed that, outside of the breeding season, many specimens actually seem to prefer to spend most of their time on land.

well, I don’t have a setup for one yet- my mom says I can’t get one until 6 months to a year and then she will consider it. I REEEEEAAAAALLLLLYYY want one though!!!!!

I dont think so...if you get more thsn one, makr,e sure there are multiple plsves for them to hide. Mine often attack each other, but neither has gitten hurt.

OK tell your mom to read this how the are you supossed to keep it alive without a sutup they need 3/4 water some gravel hiding spots plants and warmth and still if this doesn’t help then make your own money and do what ever you want thats what I alwase do because I’m sick of being told what to do when adults don’t under stand. XD
