 My Eastern Spotted Newt Has Big Black Lump

I have had this fella for 7 years with no problems. Now he has a big blackish pouchy looking lump on one side of his neck that is getting bigger and his butt/tail area has same color swollen there too. Any suggestions besides just letting him go? He is eating ok.
