What am i doing wrong? fire belly newts.
We recently bought fire belly newts for my seven year old son, and after four days one of them has died with what looks like tiny ulcers on its back, and the other one has a spot on its hind leg that is bleeding. Neither of them seem to be eating and spend most of the day lazing on the rocks.
We have been feeding them frozen blood worm, although as i said, they don’t seem to be eating it.

What am i doing wrong? fire belly newts. I’m not sure why they died, but my firebelly newt also won’t eat frozen blood worms unless starving (found out). Now, I feed mine crickets and he’s good. My firebelly newt, also like yours too, does not swim or move (but not dead). Now that I thought of it, one of my newt’s leg is not useful and just sits there beside him (the leg is obviously not able to work). I don’t know if that has to do with the frozen blood worms.

What am i doing wrong? fire belly newts. Thank you, can i also ask what you use in your tank? The pet shop said to use sand but everything i have read since says to use gravel, the sand is proving hard to clean and gravel would be much easier but the pet shop said gravel was likely to arm the newt. They seemed to know what they were talking about when i was considering getting the newts but now i wish i had done more research :(
