 "Newt" Addition to the family

I"m so excited, today I got my FBN’s. I believe they are chinese,(the pet store didn’t know?) I took pics but as i started to upload the damn cam died! SO i’m charging my batteries! I have 2 of them, they are no longer then 2-3" long. Really tiny. I have them in a 20 gal tank, the petstore i bought them from just got them in today, i wanted to buy all 8 of them, i just figured that was too many for the tank, but this pet store was so nasty, i felt guilty leaving them. anyway, he said to feed them leaf worms. so i put some in the smaller tank so they would see them right away, but they didn’t eat. so i figured they were stressed out. so i put them in the tank, they aren’t eating them. what other options do i have for feeding them? i was going to do crickets, but even the small crickets will be bigger then these guys!!! i figured they will be okay till tomorrow till I figure it out, i even dangled the worm in front of them, and they still didn’t take it. i don’t want to leave the worms in the tank, cause they were climbing up the tank wall and i do not want escaped worms!!! ugh! anyway, any thoughts on what i can do? i’ll up load my pics later tonight. thanks for your help!!!

Linda

Here are the pics, and one of the little guys is missing his front right foot. Will it grow back?

 Good luck

FBNs eat a variety of insects. Bloodworms are an option. Newts and salamanders can go a little while without food. In the meanwhile, try to keep the tank conditoins well for the little guys. Good luck! By the way, by purchasing all of them, you would just encourage the pet store to get more, and how do you upload pics?

Keep a tight lid on that tank. I lost a fire belly that size once. It was not very active so I wasn’t worried but it got out anyway.
