Big problem stuck on what to do

Hey there long time since i have been on the Newt section hope you all are keeping good
So on Friday Bloo got out her tank she pushed herself out of this tiny gap where the wires for her light feed through i forgot to tape up couple of nights ago when i cleaned her home out and well she climbed out and she fell quite a drop the tank she’s in is a Jewel Rio 125L with the stand so for her is quite a height when i found her she had a large bump in her back so i took her too the vet and the vet said that it is broken and she is partly paralyzed from the broken part down as she can still move/wagg her tail but cannot move her hind legs so she drags herself along the bottom with her front feet as she cannot swim and thats if she wants too move i’ve stopped feeding her her crickets and fish as with her noty moving i’ve just been feeding her bloodworm as it sits at the bottom of the tank so she can go help herself to it if she needs but the vet said he aint ever came across a newt with a broken back and he isn’t sure if it will heal its self as if he done a micro operation it may make the matters worse and abviously im not sure if she is in pain i guess when she doesn’t want to move she is but what will i do with Bloo? Obviously i love her to bits and don’t want her to die but i don’t want to be selfish and keep her alive if she is in pain as thats just cruel so boys and girls and Dane please help me im so lost in this x x x x x x

I am so very, very sorry! Usually people say when an animal is in pain they will be lethargic and not eat. Is she eating at all? Did you post this on Caudata since I know you’ve been there before? I know they can regenerate limbs but can they regenerate other bones?

Once more, I am so sorry!

She has never been a big eater she usually eat 3 mouth fulls of bloodworm and thats her
But now it is 2 small mouth fulls of bloodworm and then she just leaves it and trys to turn around obviously because of the paralysation she cant move her body so she gets in an awful mess
I have not been on the Caudata site can you post the forum link for me please?
I don’t know if they can regenerate bones and the vet wasn’t evan too sure of it either which is awfully poo you know
But just goes too show evan if you got a lid make sure the gaps for the wires are covered up or like me you got a disabled newt on your hands and it aint really that easy to look after her now if she gets stuck you got to be gentle in moving her on to her side you have to carefully lift her up towards her food if she can’t get to get but exleast she will happily munc away on the little she now consume’s

Good. Sorry, I couldn’t physically walk yesterday and I didn’t read your post till now. I thought I saw you on Caudata. Oh well, pain meds playing tricks on me again.
