 Second Opinion Please

Hey everyone. I have had this girl for about 8 years now and I am still not 100% sure what she is. When I got her she was just a hatchling and I was told that she was a Black Rat X Yellow Rat, but now that she is an adult I really am not sure. I have had other people look at her and they think that it is possible that she could be a Texas Rat.
She is kinda unpredictable, especially when I am getting her out of the cage, but after that she settles down, and she tends to just sit still and not move.

I am just looking for second opinions. She has bred once last year for the first time with a corn, but I would like to know what to call the crosses, if you know what I mean.

So what do you guys think?

Here’s my Adult Everglades rat snake
~Mitch

Had to take both hides out to clean them, he thought it would be funny to drop bombs all over both of his hides, while he was moving around i snapped a few pics. never-mind the two heat lamps my bulb blew had to to that in a pinch so he wouldn’t freeze my house is really cold.

mitch is beautiful, hard to believe my little gray shoe string is gonna turn into that, every shed im amazed, anyways im curious how is mitch to handle? i handle mine everyday and still get tagged all the time just wondering if i get to look forward to a life time of that or if they calm down with age. doesnt matter either way i love my little psycho, they are such awesome snakes.

Hmm up to you really, either would work fine, Here’s a pic of My 30 gallon long that i had him in, as u can see he makes this tank look small, I can move this 30 around like its nothing. i would suggest getting another tank to keep at you dads house similar to the same setup you have. are you taking your snake with you every time you visit your dad?.

Mitch is Great i take him about a few time a week, but i never take him about after feeding i let him digest for a few days. my little sister loves to hold him, there was only one incident where he bit me but it was my own fault. was cleaning out his cage and i was trying to get him into a little box and i closed the lid on his head needless to say he didn’t appreciate that very much. other than that I’ve had no problems with him at all. Baby Everyglades tend to be a little fiesty but if you keep them happy and handle them every so often they’ll settle down. love to see a pic of your little guy!.

lol, I understand completely i went though a similar situation my self, just get a tank that you can transport by yourself, but let it be big enough so your snake isn’t cramped in it.

Yea my everglades rat does that from time to time but he always comes around, something else I’ve noticed about mine is he likes to borrow into the bedding im not sure if thats particular to them or not i always thought the were Semi-Arboreal,, cuz they are great climbers.

No i didn’t i got him when he was about a year or so old from a place called fin and Feather they had a vietnamese rat snake in there i looked at that one first before I got mine, but he was so aggressive i decided i didn’t want him. plus this pet store is the only one in the area where i can get live feeders from like a 20 min drive.

No not really the bigger the better with my guy, he didn’t like being in that 30 gallon after he got big.. I’ll put some more pics up in a few days.. MY brother came over with 3 mice because his snake didn’t wanna eat them Mitch gobbled em up like it was nothing, i usually feed him 5 rat wienlings a month.

xkabx,
I have not had any troubles with my yellow rat but the black one, oh boy. She is a pistol. But the more often she is handled the better she is. Most of the trouble I have with her is actually getting her out of her tank, after that she settles down quite nicely.
