 Albinos and RI’s

I have been reading caresheets spreading the (wrong) word that albino pythons have a genetic tendecy to suffer from respiratory problems. I just wanted to say that i don’t agree. What do albino genes have to do with infections?? Nothing, of course. But, the fact remains, most albino pythons actually end up dying from that. So, what’s going on?
Well, it’s obvious. People read a caresheet that quotes a given optimum temperature for their snake and they follow it religiously. But they forget that, unlike a normal (darker) animal, the albino pale skin doesn’t hold temperature that well. So, they should always keep temps a couple degrees above the "normal" rule when they have an albino instead, to make up for the heat the snake wastes. It’s just like choosing between a white and a black shirt on a hot day... you’ll see the difference :)
