You shouldn’t keep any snakes in the same enclosure, with the exception of breeding. Snakes are solitary animals and don’t enjoy company. You cause many problems when you do this. You risk the spread of disease for starters, but you also cause competition over the best resources. The dominant snake will get the warmest spot, the best spot in the hide, first take on the water dish, etc. Not to mention if you feed in the enclosure, you risk having one snake kill another snake during constriction, two snakes attacking the same prey item, or both snakes attacking you at the same time. Its just a bad idea and should never be done, with the exception of breeding.

 CAGES!!!

I’ve seen a lot of people, mostly on forums complain about housing two or more snakes together. What I have seen in person was much different and nothing like anyone has said. I’ve known people who have kept two red tail boas together. I know someone with two or three ball pythons together. I’ve seen many enclosures with two tree boas or tree pythons being kept together. None of them have ever had a problem. They do feed in separate enclosures, but that’s all. After some time they’re returned back to the enclosure and the two snakes don’t bother each other at all. They’ll usually curl up together and stay together a lot during the day or non-active hours.

Right now I am currently experimenting with keeping two of my red tails together. So far everything is good and they’re doing exactly as I have just said. They’re both small right now. When they get larger they’ll each be in their own large, stackable enclosure.

It’s a try at your own risk thing, but I have seen a lot more where everything has gone well. From my own personal experience so far everything is going well here.

You need to go ask Fairy Frog Mother about keeping two snakes together. Especially boa constrictors. You said it yourself, "try at your own risk." Why risk the life, health, and happiness of your snakes?

I don’t need to ask anyone. That’s one person. I’ve seen multiple where there was no problem at all.

Hat Boy ,

You did not say what size the JCP’s are so I will assume adults for the most part ...I have a 2x2x4 and it is fine for what you are considering....plenty of room for branches and other furniture design and hides... consider the material carefully if you intend to keep humidity levels high. Moisture is very destructive over time. Seal everything and caulk the joints well. Or purchase the famous name enclosures made of plastics/PVC...I have seen them on various Craigs List ads (used) and reasonably priced.
