 Compressed coconut fibre

hey everyone, i have noticed over the last few weeks that my bp’s viv hasnt been humid enough, i knew this because she shed wasnt whole (is this write?) so i asked the person i bought her from what to do and he told me to put coconut fibre underneath her repti bark. so i did and the humidity is now at about 40. is this correct.
i put it in last week and tried feeding her last night but she didnt want to know, is this something to do with her new substrate or i think she may be due to shed.
any info greatly apriciated.

tor!

ok. wow. had to decipher that a little bit. First, BPs don’t really need high humidity, so the compressed coconut husk is kind of a waste of money. The best you can do is create a humidity box. Get a deli cup big enough for your snake to hide in, cut a hole and fill it with damp sphagnum (sp) moss. Put this in the cage during shed time in place of its original hide. This will allow the snake to get the humidity it needs during shedding. You can also just place it into a paper bag with wet paper towels for a couple of hours a day, every couple of days. Or an even simpler way, just spray down the cage and the snake 1-2 times a day until it is done shedding.
As far as feeding, its probably got to do with shedding. Most snakes won’t eat during shed (there are exceptions). Good luck.
